What brought you to Iron Keel Strength?
I was not exercising before. To be honest, I used to hate exercising which left me with very little strength and endurance. So I joined IKS for a 6 weeks program to get into better shape and improve my stamina.
What made you stay?
Some hard core coaches who tried to kick my ass (but they couldn’t) still waiting for that day! (JK!)
Definitely the coaches Eliah and Pam, they are very invested and pay so much attention to every detail. The coaches are very knowledgeable and excellent. Also my gym buddy Nic she has helped me a great deal to be consistent. I love how everyone here supports and cheers you on.
How long have you been with Iron Keel Strength?
I joined IKS in Feb 2018 with the New You challenge. But I have been consistent since Feb 2019.
What are some your goals? Have they been met?
I have always been a goal oriented person. I am very quick with making new goals as I keep accomplishing them. So yes I have met many goals and I am ready with a new list as well. In terms of my weight I have lost 12-15 lb in the past 5 months. From using the training barbel to actually lifting 220 lb now is how far I have come with IKS. For me fitness is a journey and because of IKS I am very excited to go test my limits.
Deadlift 220 lb
Benefits you have noticed? Any changes to brag about?
I have benefited greatly from the classes here, I am more stronger now with increased stamina. I have a whole new wardrobe of clothes that didnt fit but now do. In short, every class here is a new adventure, and there are times when I do sweat my brains out, but as i walk out the building, I feel like a completely new person.
What do you do out there in the real world?
Professionally, I work in the health care sector. But personally I love traveling and exploring new places. I enjoy being outdoors riding bike, hiking mountains, watching sunset and sunrises.
What’s your favorite workout?
Anything that involves rowing, lifting weights, sledge, tire flipping (if that’s what it is actually called). To be honest anything but burpees, it is the only exercise that I hate doing so much you can ask my coaches about the faces I make when I see burpees on the board.
What is your biggest Iron Keel Strength accomplishment?
I have accomplished a lot from this place. My biggest accomplishment is that I love exercising now.
Deadlift 220 lb
Also very soon I will be running a 5 k (I couldn’t even run half a mile before IKS)
Anything to add?
Whatever your fitness or personal goals are just give yourself a chance. It doesn’t matter where you start as long as you start. Lastly, Eliah and Pam you guys are Aweeessomeee and make working out a whole lot fun.
