Congratulations to Spencer Hoffman this month’s member of the month at Iron Keel Strength. Spencer is a competitive swimmer who has been working with us to improve his speed and endurance. Get to know more about him!
What brought you to Iron Keel Strength?
I am 16 and a competive swimmer and did not want this to interfere with my swim training, but rather enhance it.
What made you stay? The outstanding coaches and their dedication to help me get better. Also the friendliness of everyone there makes working out fun!
How long have you been with Iron Keel Strength?
I joined in April 2018
I was referred to the gym by another health care provider. He said it was somewhere I could go to train in a safe environment and not get injured.
What are some your goals? Have they been met?
Get stronger to be more competivie in the pool because I want to swim for a college team in the future.
I am stronger and more fit.
Best lifts? idk
Benefits you have noticed? Any changes to brag about?
Have added muscle since joining and I have gotten more endurance for my longer distance swimming.
My reaction time off the blocks has gotten faster. I look a lot stronger. I think the work will pay off in my championship meets coming up in July.
What do you do out there in the real world?
I swim competitively and go to school. I have Sectionals times and have raced against collegians and olympians even though I am only 16.
What’s your favorite workout? I like it all except running. I like that is it is fast and changes a lot.
What is your biggest Iron Keel Strength accomplishment?
Learning the proper technique with lifting and preventing injury. I feel stronger every session.
Anything to add?
Still waiting for the pool at Iron Keel! The coaching is expert, personal, and intense but positive. Eli has taken a special interest in my swimming and has come to a meet an cheered me on. I want to show him good results in the coming meets.
I want to thank all the coaches that have put up with me! Eli, Danny, Pam and Nick
